Presidents Address

Ladies & gentlemen

May I thank all of you for being here to night and for electing me as your President in our 104th Season.Not only is this a great honour for me, but also for my club Terenure College R.F.C

Rugby Football has always been my chosen sport. I have always relished the responsibility of being a referee and I now look forward to the coming Season to insure the great work of our association and that it continues to go from strength to strength. This task has been made very much easier as I follow in the footsteps of my predecessor Mr. Murray Whyte. Who deserves our thanks and appreciation for his tireless work on behalf of the association for the benefit of Leinster Referees and in particular the five-year plan and his considerable experience gained over many years with the I.R.F.U and the International Rugby Board. Murray, on behalf of all of us may I thank you for an exemplary year of commitment, work and service that you have contributed to our association. And to the increased efficiency and standing of Leinster Referees during your year in office. Thank you very much.

The continued success of our association is the result of a team effort, by all of you from active referees at all level, to assessors, coaches, selectors and area representatives. All of whom contribute to the growth integrity and efficiency of the association. Currently we have three International Referees who are active in world rugby football, and with your help we will work towards the continuance of those successes, by recruiting new referees and working with them to achieve there own potential.

It is my great pleasure to propose Norman Camier as Senior Vice President of the association of Referees Lenster Branch for the year 2006-2007.
